Well, here it is at last - five years in the planning, and about four months in the making, I have finally completed the animation of "Right Said Fred" Based on the classic comic-song by Ted Dicks and Myles Rudge, sung by Bernard Cribbins.
Featuring a return by Cribbs and Fred, the Cat & Dog Busy Buddies Odd-Jobs duo - and a special introduction for their friend and workmate, Charlie.
As the story goes, these characters are assigned to the task of moving an unidentified but unwieldy piece of furniture (it could be a grand piano, it could be a large sideboard - it's not actually stated what it is... for our purposes, I went with a chiffonier) Long story short... they don't have much luck...
I hope this proves to be a marked improvement from my old animation. I've been trying to improve my methods, and one of the most notable being the decision to embed head/face-animations in a graphic-symbol independent of the rest of the character-animation. This is also animated at a more conventional 25fps instead of my former 15fps, to give smoother motion.

(As before, I stress that the animation and characterisations only are my own work - the song was written by Ted Dicks, lyrics by Myles Rudge, sung by Bernard Cribbins)
Hahaha, my dad always used to whistle this and say random quotes whilst doing DIY XD Brought back memories of childhood just hearing it again. Awesome animation too, dude! Really like the way you sort of "pan" the characters to give them a 3D sort of look? If that makes sense It's really cool and smooth and stuff Ace! Keep up the great work
And now I'll be humming Right Said Fred for the rest of the day XD
Heh, heh... thanks very much! Glad it's able to evoke old memories like that! The classics are the best!
This and other more recent Flash animations is kind of an accumulation of experience I've been building on since first learning in during my first years of Uni - must have been using it for at least nine years now. I've been learning new methods to improve my technique and quality.
Well, it certainly shows off Keep up the awesome work
I can't get my head round Flash, myself XD I worked out how to do the "basic onion layer" thing and left it at that. Never really ventured much farther into the "helpful tools" XD Then again, I haven't really had time to sit and look at it properly in yeaaaars XD I'd like to get into it again sometime. You've inspired me to do so :3 Although, I can't see myself ever making anything more than a few seconds worth XD
I admire you animating folk's patience. Greatly. XD
Yeah, it certainly takes months and years of experience. But it pays off in the end.
I really want to get on with animating some cartoons with Danbuster and co, but it takes a while to get things organised. There's scenery to drew, as well as voice-actors to chase up.
wow...that has got to be the funniest thing I've seen in weeks...This is EPIC! DUDE>>>WELL FRIGGING DONE MAN...that was awesome...Love those Alice in Wonderland references in there
YUS IT WAS...and OMG I didn't know BENARD CRIBBINS sung that song either...HOLY SHEOIT I never knew that...that blew my mind. Sorry me'z a big doc who fan too
